How to Save at Vodafone

Vodafone doesn’t really do traditional discount codes — and that’s actually fine. Unlike most retailers where a promo code is the headline saving, Vodafone’s best savings are baked into its plans and programmes. A well-timed trade-in, the right bundle, or an eligibility discount you didn’t know you had can knock far more off your bill than a one-off voucher code ever would. Here’s where to look.

Trade in before you buy

Vodafone’s trade-in programme is one of the most generous in the UK right now, with valuations worth up to £1,007 off a new iPhone and up to £914 off the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Use the trade-in tool in the My Vodafone app to get an instant quote — Vodafone locks that value in for 7 days, giving you time to shop rather than rush. You can take the credit as a monthly saving on your new plan, as account credit, or as a direct bank transfer.

Check your eligibility first

Before you sign up to anything, run through the Vodafone Advantage scheme. NHS staff and ambulance workers save 25% on selected Pay Monthly plans and 20% on SIM-only and tablet plans. Teachers and military personnel get the same rates. Students can access 10% off handset plans and 15% off SIM-only. These aren’t trivial numbers — 25% off a monthly plan adds up meaningfully over a 24-month contract.

Consider Vodafone Together if you need broadband too

Bundling your mobile and home broadband under one account unlocks exclusive discounts that, across a family, can add up to £400 a year in savings. You get one bill, one app to manage everything, and 15% off each additional SIM line you add — useful if multiple people in the household need covering. Vodafone was named Most Popular Broadband Provider and Best Value for Money by Uswitch in February 2026, so it’s worth pricing up as a genuine alternative to your current setup.

Go refurbished

A refurbished Vodafone phone can be up to 30% cheaper than buying new, and crucially, Vodafone’s refurbished devices come with the same lifetime warranty and battery refresh coverage as new ones. They’re graded clearly — Pristine, Great, or Good — so you know exactly what you’re getting. If you’re not chasing the latest release, this is an easy saving most people overlook.

VeryMe Rewards programme

Every Vodafone mobile customer gets access to VeryMe through the My Vodafone app — and it’s worth opening weekly rather than forgetting about it. Treats rotate regularly and have included £1 coffees at Caffè Nero, 25% off local coffee shops, 2-for-1 meals, up to 50% off UK attractions, and prize draws for Glastonbury and Wimbledon tickets. PAYG customers can access the same rewards as long as they top up at least £10 every six weeks.

Time your upgrade around sales periods

Vodafone runs a Winter Sale through to January and regularly discounts devices over Black Friday and bank holiday weekends. If your upgrade window is coming up, it’s worth waiting for one of these periods rather than buying mid-cycle at full price.

Look at EVO if you want flexibility

Vodafone EVO splits your contract into a separate Device Plan and Airtime Plan, letting you pay off the handset at 0% APR over 12 to 36 months. The key benefit is that Device Plan payments don’t increase with the annual April price rise — only your Airtime element does. Every EVO plan also includes Battery Refresh for up to three years and a lifetime warranty, which is a meaningful extra given how much phones cost these days.

Why We Love Vodafone

Vodafone is one of those networks that rewards you for sticking around and consolidating your services, rather than just offering the cheapest headline rate. A few things stand out.

VeryMe Rewards is genuinely useful. A lot of loyalty programmes exist on paper and deliver very little in practice. VeryMe is a genuine exception — free coffees, cut-price meals, and half-price days out aren’t life-changing savings, but they add up if you actually use the app regularly.

The trade-in and EVO combination makes upgrading more manageable. Instead of a large upfront cost or a contract that locks you into a fixed monthly amount for the device forever, EVO lets you pay off the hardware on your own terms and at 0% APR. Combine that with a trade-in value locked in for seven days, and upgrading is less of a financial jolt than it used to be.

Vodafone Essentials Broadband and VOXI For Now show a different side of the brand. Essentials Broadband starts from £20 a month with no mid-contract price rises — designed specifically for customers on government benefits. VOXI For Now provides unlimited 5G data, calls, and texts for £10 a month for those claiming eligible benefits. These aren’t flagship products, but they matter: not many networks make this provision as explicitly, and it’s worth knowing the option exists.

The refurbished range is taken seriously. A 32-point health check, clear condition grading, lifetime warranty, and battery refresh service is a stronger commitment to refurbished quality than most networks offer. If you’re happy buying second-hand, Vodafone’s refurbished range is one of the more trustworthy places to do it.
