How to save money at Dell UK

Join Dell Rewards before you buy anything

Dell Rewards is free to join and earns 3% back in points on every purchase (calculated before tax). 100 points = £1, convertible to Dell Cash once you’ve accumulated 1,500 points (£15).

There’s an important mechanic to understand before redeeming: Dell Cash can only be applied when your cart total is at least £100 after rewards are applied. So to use £15 Dell Cash you need at least £115 in your basket; to use £50 you need at least £150. Also be aware that points also expire roughly 90 days after being earned, so don’t let them sit.

Understand Dell Advantage before choosing a discount route

If you’re a student, NHS worker, teacher, military personnel or first responder, Dell Advantage gives you verified pricing that applies automatically at checkout once set up. The student and teacher discount is 10% off, NHS and military rates vary by programme.

Crucially, these can’t be combined with Dell coupon codes or affiliate cashback. Make sure to compare any codes against your Advantage rate before committing. You earn Rewards points on Advantage-discounted purchases, which you can use on a future order.

Check the Dell Outlet for certified refurbished stock

The Dell Outlet sells returned, overstocked and refurbished Dell products at meaningfully lower prices with the same warranty as buying new. Stock is categorised as New Unused (sealed or open box, never used), Certified Refurbished (thoroughly tested, may have minor cosmetic marks), and Scratch & Dent (cosmetic blemishes, no screen, keyboard or trackpad damage).

Most Outlet systems ship within 24 hours of order approval. Outlet purchases earn Dell Rewards points but Dell Cash cannot be redeemed against Outlet orders — worth factoring in if you have points banked. Outlet also has its own separate coupon codes, updated regularly.

Use the trade-in programme to offset the cost of a new device

Dell’s trade-in programme offers up to £500 back on eligible devices depending on condition and model. The value is applied directly against the new purchase. You can combine trade-in credit with other discounts and continue to earn Rewards points on the remaining spend. This makes it one of the more stackable savings levers available.

Check the price match policy within 30 days of purchase

If you find the same Dell product cheaper at a qualifying UK retailer with available stock after buying, call or chat with Dell (0800 085 4878) within 30 days of your invoice date to claim a refund of the difference. Likewise, if dell.co.uk drops the price on something you’ve bought within 30 days, you can claim back the difference. The policy doesn’t apply to Outlet, clearance, bundles, marketplace sellers, or promotional prices tied to Dell’s own rewards schemes, but for standard product pricing it’s a useful backstop.

Time bigger purchases around key sale events

Dell’s largest promotional periods are Back to School (typically July to September), Dell Tech Days (periodic promotional windows with up to 27% off selected business products and double Rewards points), and Black Friday in November. These are when deepest discounts appear on XPS, Inspiron, Alienware and monitor ranges. The Deals section on dell.co.uk runs year-round with rotating category-specific offers.

Corporate employees of Dell partner companies get an additional discount

If your employer is a Dell business customer, you may be eligible for an employee purchase discount through Dell Advantage for Corporate Staff. Verify with your company email address and the discount will automatically apply at checkout. Discounts vary by company.

Eligible for up to 2 transactions per year, 2 products each. If you’re unsure whether your employer qualifies, try the verification process or email Dell_Advantage_UKI@dell.com.

About Dell UK

Founded in 1984 by Michael Dell in Austin, Texas, Dell Technologies is one of the world’s largest technology companies — selling directly to consumers and businesses in over 180 countries. In the UK, dell.co.uk covers the full product spectrum: consumer laptops and desktops, gaming systems under the Alienware brand, professional business hardware, monitors, peripherals and accessories, servers and enterprise storage.

The direct sales model is the defining feature. Dell sells primarily through its own website and sales team rather than through high-street retailers, which means the best prices and configuration options are almost always on dell.co.uk itself. Products can be built to order — choosing processor, RAM, storage and display specifications — which means you pay for what you actually need rather than a pre-configured bundle that overshoots your requirements. Configured-to-order systems typically take longer to ship than in-stock items.

The range organises clearly by use case. XPS covers Dell’s premium consumer laptops with thin-and-light designs and high-resolution displays. Inspiron is the mainstream consumer range across all price points. Alienware is the gaming sub-brand, known for high-spec configurations and distinctive design. For business buyers, Latitude (mobile workstations), Precision (high-performance workstations), OptiPlex (business desktop), and the current Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max laptop lines cover the professional spectrum. UltraSharp monitors are among the most highly regarded in the professional display category.

Dell Premier is worth knowing about for regular business buyers. The Premier portal gives business customers access to a configured product catalogue with pre-negotiated pricing, member-only deals on Latitude, Precision and OptiPlex not available to the public, and tools for managing orders, invoices and approval workflows for teams. It’s worth setting up if you’re buying for a business rather than one-off personal use.

0% finance is available on qualifying purchases. Larger purchases, such as laptops, desktops and monitors above certain price points, can be spread over 12 months at 0% APR, subject to credit approval. Prices on product pages show the monthly cost explicitly, making it easy to assess affordability before committing.
