Ways to Save at Victorian Plumbing

Check the offers section before adding anything to your basket

The Offers tab on the Victorian Plumbing homepage lists all currently live promotions including category-specific codes, automatic price reductions and clearance lines. Many promotions apply automatically at checkout without a code, but some require a code that is only visible from the offers page or from voucher sites.

Checking the offers page before browsing rather than after building a basket ensures you can structure your order around what is currently discounted.

Use the free tile sample service before committing to a large tile order

Victorian Plumbing launched a free tile sample service in January 2025, allowing customers to select up to three tile samples for express delivery free of charge. Given that tile colours and textures can look significantly different in person compared to a screen, using the sample service before placing a large tile order avoids the cost and inconvenience of returning an unsuitable product.

The sample checkout is separate from the main basket and does not require a minimum spend.

Apply category codes to the highest-value items in your order

Victorian Plumbing’s promotional codes are typically category-specific — a 10% shower code, for example, applies to showers only. If your order spans multiple categories, applying a category code to the product with the highest individual value within the eligible group produces the largest cash saving.

Before placing a large mixed order, splitting out the product types and checking whether a current code exists for each category is worth doing.

Apply for a trade account if you are fitting multiple bathrooms

The trade account discount of up to 10% applies across all products, compounding meaningfully on the full cost of multiple bathroom projects. For a self-employed plumber or builder fitting even a few bathrooms per year, the account pays back its registration quickly.

The Two Inc buy-now-pay-later option also helps manage cashflow across projects, allowing materials to be ordered and paid once client payment is received.

Reach the £499 free delivery threshold before applying a code

Standard delivery is charged on orders below £499. For anyone whose order lands between £400 and £499, adding a lower-cost product such as accessories, towel rails or bathroom accessories to reach the threshold removes the delivery charge, which may cost less than the delivery fee itself.

What Victorian Plumbing Gets Right

Victorian Plumbing did something structurally important in 2000 that most bathroom retailers were still reluctant to attempt: it built the entire business online rather than treating the internet as a secondary channel to physical stores. The timing, early enough to establish brand recognition before competitors took online seriously, created an operational lead that is now formidable. The 544,000 square foot semi-automated distribution centre, opened in December 2024 and one of the largest in UK bathroom retail, is the logistics infrastructure that the original online-first bet eventually required.

The breadth of own-brand labels is a structural advantage that general bathroom retailers cannot easily replicate. With over 25 in-house brands including Arezzo, Chatsworth and the eponymous Victorian Plumbing range, the business controls the design, pricing and supply chain of a significant proportion of what it sells. Own-brand products are not available elsewhere, which means price-conscious shoppers cannot comparison-shop them across retailers, and Victorian Plumbing retains higher margins while offering competitive end prices. The alternative — stocking third-party brands exclusively — leaves pricing and availability at the mercy of brand decisions made elsewhere.

The next-day delivery cut-off time of 3pm is meaningfully later than most bathroom competitors. For trade customers who need materials the following morning, the cut-off time matters more than headline delivery speed. Moving the cut-off from midday to 3pm in January 2025 gives an additional three hours of order window on any working day, which for a plumber on a job who needs a replacement part for the following morning is the difference between a workable solution and a day’s delay.

The VAT relief process for disabled customers is documented and accessible rather than buried. Many retailers offer VAT relief in principle but make the process sufficiently opaque that eligible customers either do not know it exists or cannot navigate it. Victorian Plumbing provides a downloadable form, a clear basket-save-and-submit process, and a follow-up route for existing orders. For a customer fitting an accessible bathroom who qualifies for relief, the 20% VAT removal on a bathroom suite is a substantial saving with no complexity beyond submitting the form.

The free tile sample service removes a genuine friction point in bathroom planning. Tiles are one of the most common sources of returns in bathroom retail, because screens render colour, texture and finish inaccurately and customers frequently find that what arrived does not match what they expected. Offering up to three samples delivered free, with a separate express checkout, reduces the incidence of large tile orders being returned while improving customer confidence before purchase. It costs Victorian Plumbing a small amount per sample and saves substantially more per avoided return.
