How to save money at Dunelm

Sign up for the newsletter — the welcome code is worth having

New subscribers receive a 10% off welcome code by email, valid online and in-store. The Dunelm voucher code works on most of the range and there’s no minimum spend requirement beyond excluding gift cards.

Signing up also enters you into a quarterly draw for a £250 gift card, and subscribers get early access to sale launches. The last perk is underrated with when it comes to clearance lines, where popular sizes and colours sell out fast.

Add your birthday to MyAccount for an annual 10% off

This one consistently slips under the radar. Add your birthday in the MyAccount section of dunelm.com and you’ll receive a 10% birthay discount code via email; valid for one transaction online or in-store. Combined with the newsletter welcome code if your timing is right, that’s two 10% opportunities in short succession when you first join.

Use made-to-measure multi-buy discounts for window dressing projects

If you’re ordering made-to-measure curtains or blinds for more than one room, buy everything in a single order. The discount scales automatically: 10% off 2 items, 15% off 3 items, 20% off 4 or more. For a house with standard-sized windows, ordering curtains for two or three rooms at once could save significantly more than any percentage code.

Order up to 5 free fabric samples first to make sure you’re happy with the material and colour before committing.

Buy a bed and mattress together to save 25%

Dunelm automatically applies 25% off when you buy a qualifying bed and mattress in the same transaction. No code required, just add both to your basket. It’s a meaningful saving on purchases that typically run to several hundred pounds, and it’s often overlooked by shoppers who buy them separately.

Shop the Returns Outlet for inspected stock at a guaranteed discount

The Dunelm Returns Outlet — available both online and in-store — carries returned items that have been checked, tested and re-packaged, sold at a minimum 10% off the original price. Stock changes frequently and availability is limited, but it’s a reliable route to quality homeware at below-standard pricing. Worth a look before buying anything full price, particularly on larger items like furniture and bedding sets.

Check the clearance section regularly

Dunelm’s clearance section runs year-round with reductions up to 75% on end-of-line and discontinued stock across all categories. New lines are added weekly. The best pieces, particularly rugs, lighting and soft furnishings, move quickly. Checking back regularly is more reliable than waiting for a major sale event.

Time bigger purchases around sale events

Black Friday is Dunelm’s biggest promotional period, with up to 50% off across most categories and occasional deeper clearance cuts. Boxing Day, January, Easter and summer also bring significant reductions on furniture and garden. Newsletter subscribers get early access, which on popular items can be the difference between getting the piece you want at sale price and finding it gone.

About Dunelm

Founded in 1979 in Leicester — starting as a market stall selling curtains — Dunelm has grown into the UK’s largest homeware retailer, with over 190 stores nationwide and dunelm.com serving millions of shoppers. The range covers every room: bedding, curtains and blinds, rugs, lighting, furniture, kitchen appliances, bathroom, garden and storage.

Made-to-measure is a genuine strength, not just an add-on. Dunelm makes its curtains, blinds and shutters to order in the UK, with a full consultation service available in-store, online or via video call. The free fabric sample service lets you test colours and textures in your own light before committing. For anyone who has ever ordered curtains and found the colour completely different on arrival than it looked on screen, this is worth using.

The range spans more than most people realise. Beyond the soft furnishings Dunelm is best known for, the kitchen and electricals range includes branded appliances (KitchenAid, Tower, Joseph Joseph) as well as own-brand cookware. Dunelm has also built out a furniture offer covering sofas, beds, dining sets, storage and home office, with a Made to Order service for upholstered furniture including sofas and beds.

Pausa Café makes in-store visits more practical for families. Most Dunelm stores include a Pausa Café offering hot food and drinks. Kids eat free from the full children’s menu when an adult spends £4 in the café — one child per £4 spent, available every day from opening. It turns a homeware shop into something more manageable for parents with young children.

Interest-free credit makes large purchases easier to plan. Dunelm offers 12 months’ interest-free credit via Creation Consumer Finance on orders over £300. Klarna Pay in 3 and PayPal Pay in 3 are available from orders over £20.
