Ways to Save at National Tyres

Always use manual booking, not Quick Booking, to apply a code

The Quick Booking route at national.co.uk does not display the promo code field at checkout. If you go through Quick Booking and try to apply a discount code, you will not find anywhere to enter it. Start a manual booking instead: select your service from the top navigation, search by registration or tyre size, add to basket, and proceed to checkout the long way around. The voucher code box appears beneath the order summary on the right-hand side of the checkout page.

Buy two or more tyres to unlock the best per-tyre price

National Tyres’ multi-buy structure means that a single tyre purchase rarely represents the best value. For premium brands including Goodyear, Bridgestone and Pirelli, buying two or three tyres with a current promo code typically saves 10% off the total. Buying a full set of four brings that to 15%. The same logic applies to budget brand promotions for Avon and Sailun. If only one tyre needs replacing urgently, it is still worth checking whether the second tyre on the same axle is close to the legal minimum tread depth of 1.6mm, since replacing both at once saves money and is safer.

Bundle your MOT with a service for the biggest MOT saving

Booking an MOT alongside a qualifying service at National can reduce the MOT cost by up to 50% compared to booking it on its own. A standalone MOT typically costs around £39.99 with a valid online promo code, but combined packages bring a fuller saving. An Interim Service and MOT starts from around £204.99, which works out significantly cheaper than booking each separately. If your car is due both in the same period, the bundle route is almost always the better option.

Use the same-day fitting service for urgent replacements

If a tyre needs replacing immediately, National offers same-day fitting at many of its branches for orders placed online before 3pm. Orders placed after 3pm are bookable for the following morning. Not every tyre size is available for same-day fitting at every centre, so checking availability by calling your nearest branch is advisable if you cannot find what you need online. Same-day fitting carries the same fully inclusive price as a standard advance booking.

Book mobile fitting if you cannot get to a branch

National’s mobile tyre fitting service sends a technician to your home or workplace at a time you choose. The booking process mirrors the standard online flow: enter your registration, choose your tyres, select mobile fitting as your preferred option, and pick a date and time slot. The quoted price is the same fully inclusive price as branch fitting. Mobile fitting is available seven days a week across the majority of National’s coverage area. It is particularly useful if taking time off work for a garage visit is not practical.

Sign up to the newsletter before you book

National’s newsletter subscribers regularly receive exclusive promo codes that are not listed on third-party voucher sites. New subscribers are typically sent a first-order code shortly after signing up. If you are planning a tyre purchase or MOT booking in the coming weeks, signing up a few days in advance and waiting for a newsletter code before booking can add a saving on top of whatever standard multi-buy offer is running at the time.

Use the free checks to avoid larger bills later

National’s free tyre, brake, battery and exhaust checks cost nothing and come with no obligation to buy. Catching a tyre with a slow puncture, a battery that is borderline failing, or brake pads that are approaching minimum thickness before they actually fail is almost always cheaper than dealing with the breakdown or the consequential damage. Combining a free brake and tyre check in a single visit takes around fifteen minutes at most branches.

What National Tyres Gets Right

National Tyres occupies a useful middle ground in the UK fast-fit market: larger than most independent garages, with a nationwide parts guarantee and 300-plus centre network to back it up, but generally more straightforward to deal with than franchised dealerships and cheaper for routine work.

The fully inclusive online pricing removes the surprise at the till. Every price on national.co.uk includes VAT, fitting, a new valve, wheel balancing and old tyre disposal. That matters because the headline tyre price from some competitors excludes fitting costs and disposal charges, which can add £10 to £20 per tyre by checkout. With National, the price you see when you search by registration is the price you pay.

Same-day fitting availability across the network is genuinely useful. Most tyre purchases are not planned. A nail in a tyre on a Tuesday morning is not a problem most drivers want to book in for three days later. The ability to find a tyre online, confirm same-day availability and have it fitted the same afternoon at a local branch addresses the practical reality of how tyre problems actually happen.

Mobile fitting runs at no premium over branch pricing. Many mobile tyre services charge a callout fee or inflate the tyre price to cover the convenience. National’s mobile fitting is offered at the same quoted price as branch fitting, with the same parts guarantee applying. For anyone whose work or domestic schedule makes a branch visit difficult, that is a meaningful distinction.

The two-year or 24,000-mile parts guarantee transfers across the network. Because National and Halfords Autocentre share the same parts supply chain, a guarantee on a part fitted at a National branch can be honoured at any of the 600-plus garages in the wider group. For drivers who move, change jobs or simply end up near a different centre, that flexibility matters more than it might initially appear.

National is a founding member of TyreSafe, the UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of dangerous and illegal tyres, a role it has held since the charity launched in 2006. That institutional commitment to tyre safety is reflected in the free tyre checks available at every branch, with no booking fee and no purchase required.
