How to save at Crocus

Join the Crocus Club

The Crocus Club is free to join and frankly undersold. Sign up and you’ll get 10% off your next order straight away. After that, you receive three 20% off codes throughout the year, which are normally timed around key planting seasons, plus early access to exclusive promotions and invitations to Crocus’s open days where you can pick up plants in person at nursery prices.

The benefit on the Club quickly adds up if you’re buying plants more than once a year. Sign up via the Crocus website in as fast as one minute.

Make the most of multibuy deals

Crocus runs multibuy deals across perennials, shrubs, and bedding, including 2+1 free offers on selected bulb collections. If you’re planting a border, filling containers, or stocking up for spring, buying in multiples is nearly always better value than buying individually.

Check the Offers section before you add anything to your wheelbarrow. The deals are broken down by category and updated seasonally.

Shop the sales and time your bulb buys

Crocus updates its sale section at the start of each season with reduced plants, furniture, tools and outdoor accessories with discounts reaching up to 60%. Bulbs in particular can drop significantly during sale periods, so if you’re planning ahead for summer colour — dahlias, peonies, alliums — it’s worth watching rather than buying at full price in peak season. Popular varieties do sell out, so there’s a balance to strike, but when the timing works the savings are real.

Refer a friend for £10 each

If you have a fellow gardener in your life, Crocus’s refer a friend programme gives you both £10 off. They get £10 off their first order, and once they’ve completed their purchase, £10 comes back to you. A small saving, but an easy one.

Click and collect to skip delivery costs

If you’re in or near Surrey, Crocus offers free click and collect from their nursery in Windlesham. It’s available on all orders regardless of spend, which makes it a straightforward way to dodge the delivery charge on smaller orders.

Sign up to the newsletter for early access

Crocus’s newsletter goes out monthly and includes seasonal planting tips, plant recommendations and the occasional exclusive deal. If you want to know about sales before they go live, it’s the simplest way to stay ahead.

Why shop with Crocus?

Crocus launched in April 2000 from a nursery in Windlesham, Surrey, and has grown into the UK’s largest online gardening brand — stocking over 7,000 plant varieties, the widest range available online from a single nursery. What sets them apart from a basic garden centre isn’t just the range though.

Chelsea credentials that mean something. Over 20 years, Crocus has grown and built 36 show gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, winning 33 gold medals and 12 Best in Show awards. The plants on their site are the same ones that impress judges and garden designers. That’s not marketing; it’s a useful quality signal for anyone buying plants they expect to actually thrive.

Plant Healthy certified. Crocus is the only online plant retailer to hold the Plant Healthy seal of approval — an independent certification that recognises best practice in biosecurity and plant health. If you care about what you’re putting in your garden (and stopping the spread of pests and disease), that matters.

The Iris app — free and genuinely useful. Iris is Crocus’s own gardening app, available on iOS and Android. Point your phone at any plant and it’ll identify it, set care reminders for your garden, and if you hit a problem, such as pests, soil, or disease, you can chat directly with Crocus’s in-house Plant Doctors. It also includes a map of National Garden Scheme gardens near you, so if you’re looking for planting inspiration it’s a good excuse for a day out. Free to download, no Crocus account required.

Sustainability taken seriously. Crocus uses recycled plastic packaging only where necessary for plant protection, sends paper-free invoices, and for local deliveries handled by their own drivers, they arrive with no packaging at all. Small things, but consistent with a nursery that’s been growing plants for 25 years rather than one that just sells them.
